This time its only been a few days. So Christmas was really nice, as always. I got lots of stuff I don't deserve and have nowhere to put, but that's the best part anyhow right? I got the new Shopaholic book which is much more entertaining than trying to write the Great Gatsby essay, and I got a book called Mary Magdalen which is a really thorough history which has sparked my interest ever since reading The DaVinci Code. I have fallen in love with that book and the "Forgotten History of Women" as the author so aptly calls it. Anyway, enough about that.

So I stole this from Sallie but she won't mind (esp since she won't know :) )

Ten years ago, I...
1. was six
2. was not tall enough to reach the locks in the bathroom
3. got mad i wasnt the little princess anymore b/c i had two little brat siblings to add to my annnoying, attention grabbing sister
4. did whatever i felt like doing all day long. this usually consisted of barbies, little pet shop, and playing school with my neighbor
5. didnt have to put up with no crap from nobody

Five years ago, I...
1. was eleven
2. was just starting middle school
3. HATED school
4. had my first "real" date (but it wasn't really 'real')
5. had ugly short hair

One year ago, I...
1. was fifteen
2. was in 10th grade (I miss those days, we had a lot less homework before the days of AP)
3. was really really sick but getting better by Christmas (I hate cold/flu season)
4. went on our trip out west--that was awesome!
5. made some awesome awesome plans for a trip to Mexico that I hope to take this summer!

In one year, I will...
1. will be almost 18!!!
2. will almost be going to college
3. will hopefully know where I'm going to school!
4. it will almost be 2006, my graduation year!!
5. Sallie will take her road trip haha

Yesterday, I...
1. celebrated Christmas
2. opened and delivered presents
3. ate lots of good food
4. crashed about 9:45 since Lucie woke me up at the crack of dawn going "It's Christmas GET UP!"
5. Went to Anna's and played pixtel or something like that with Sarah Cate (computerized etch-a-sketch)

Today, I...
1. could have won an award for being the laziest person alive
2. helped clean the playroom (this was not by choice)
3. read my new book and enjoyed the fire while watching it snow
4. typing this and then watching some movie Brian rented with my dad
5. went to the store with my mom (the closest thing I got to post Christmas shopping)

Tommorrow, I will...
1. sleep in (I'm so glad we're on break)
2. hopefully see my cousins who i a.d.o.r.e.
3. go to the gym with Mom and Sallie
4. pretend I don't have to do any homework over break
5. shower. sleep. be lazy and good for nothing.

Someday, I will...
1. go to college...somewhere or other
2. get a job...doing something or other
3. travel the world and return to my roots when I decide to get married.
4. become fluent in spanish (I hope sooner than later)
5. live life on the edge. you only get one life. why waste it? (obviously this is someday b/c that isn't me right now, much as I might wish it was...)

Have you ever wondered which hurts the most? saying something and wishing you hadnt? or saying nothing and wishing you had? I guess the most important things in life are the hardest to say. Well I know I can say that I love you. That NEVER happens!

I would laugh that Lucie and Brian have school today but all they're doing is having parties. Well, let's start with today instead of making up for lost time. It's finally the 4 day break. Of course, it would only really be a break if:
1) We didn't have to work on the Civil War project
2) I didn't have to get a family portrait taken this afternoon at 3--that'll be exciting...
3) My Grandma wasn't coming tomorrow to go Christmas shopping (fun, fun, fun)

Anyway, it's better than school. Plus, there are good things:
1) No school
2) sleep in
3) do anything you want when you're not doing something else (that made no sense at all)
4) go shopping on Veteran's Day sales (haha, I think I'll avoid the mobs of people doing this)

So there we go--one more good thing than bad thing (and the 1st one counts for 5).

Here we are, another month later. This summer has just flown by. So last time I wrote we had picke up Lucie and gone to that long, long wedding reception. Since then, Sallie has come home and Brian has gone to camp for two weeks and come back home again. I've been here, and at the beach, doing a lot that amounts to very little. Sallie and I have decided to "go into business" at my mom's auction this year. We are going to sell our stuff--purses, jewelry, ribbon belts and other stuff we saw in stores but decided we could make for far less money. So I've been working a lot on that since we've been back from the beach. We might go back down this weekend, but only if our cousins go.
Speaking of which, Sallie and Lucie got to go to their house today--lucky ducks. But no, Brian and I had to stay here. Brian first had to come home from the beach three weeks ago to get an emergency root canal in one of his "trauma" teeth from an earlier bike wreck. Then when he was at camp, he got hit in the mouth with a frisbee which knocked the composite off of his chipped tooth. Of course, our dentist was out of town, but Mom couldn't have him starting middle school with a chipped tooth, so he has to go to another dentist today. This brings me to my point: Dad has to give some kind of lecture in Chapel Hill today and Mom has to clean out my Grandpa's house because they are FINALLY going to sell it. Therefore, since I have the luxury of being able to drive and having a car, I am stuck here waiting to bring Brian to the dentist instead of playing with my adorable little cousins. But such is life. People that don't have cars don't see how good they have it. No, jk, I really am lucky, but right now I'm also really bored, which is why I'm rambling on and on and on...

But the other eventful thing that happened since I last wrote was that my Grandpa got put in the hospital. We were all sort of stirred up about it because he's been sick for a long time. My mom was all upset because he didn't talk to her. But since he's been back at the retirement home they put him in, he's actually been more himself than he has in the last 5 years. He actually called my mom by name which shocked her, but she was glad.

And while I'm on a rant about my family, here's something freaky. My aunt called my mom yesterday about the new "terrorist threat" that has been published in the papers. Of course, my mom and dad were all worried about that, but its not like they put their lives on hold or anything. Well, my aunt and uncle, who have nothing else to do, were watching the stock market channel all day long yesterday. They were convinced that they need to take my grandpa's money out of the stock market immediately for fear that he will lose all his money if something happens on Wall Street. Of course, the stocks have yet to drop a penny.

Anyways, if you're still reading this you must be as bored as I am because there's a lot of junk here, not really talking about anything of any substance. But I guess I better go anyhow and get ready to take Brian to the dentist. Enjoy the last few days of summer. August 9th is regretfully close.

Wow! It's been soooo long since I updated. School has been out for a month (unbelievable!). It's only just beginning to feel like it's summer! We've been down to the beach several times and back agin. Mom and I went to the mountains and went hiking, shoppinbg, and to the spa (it was my first time, it was so much fun). Lucie has been to Camp Cheerio for two weeks and back. Brian and I have gone crabbing and sunning on the beach with Mom (and Dad on weekends). I have worked reluctantly on summer reading, but I am currently not working on the papers. That'll be about August 8th or so. haha. So anyway, we're home now and there's not much to do, but it is nice to be sort of relaxing. I've been helping my mom plan her auction. It should be a good one this year, she's excited.

Well it's here. The day we've all been waiting for. Exams are finally over and we are all finally free. Except of course for our lovely summer reading.

I've had a lovely first day off. I woke up really early, but that was okay because Lucie and Brian were graduating from 5th grade today and so I needed to get ready for the graduation. Then, I got ready and helped them get ready. They both looked so cute. I can't believe how old they are; it seems like just yesterday that I was on that stage getting my "diploma." So much has happened since then, and I really can't believe that they are going on to middle school next year. I can only pray that their experience will be better than mine was...

So that was a little teary for me. I've been going to that school for as long as I can remember- literally. And I know all the teachers. And when they brought out the 5th grade gift I really got upset becuase it was an oak tree in memory of Mrs.Britt.

So then, we left there in a hurry because my mom agreed (to my sincere appalment) to have every single 5th grade boy come to our house for a pool party, because all the girls were going to the Pace's and we are the only family with a boy and a girl in 5th grade. *Sigh* So then I spent the afternoon cleaning up after annoying little boys and filling about 40 water balloons. Most of them have left now, except for about 5 whose mothers are still here talking to my mom.

Meanwhile, we got a call from Ligon that Sallie had hurt her wrist playing football and needed to come home. So my dad, after leaving the graduation, went and picked her up only to bring her to the urgent care place. It turns out her wrist is broken so she's here in a sling until the swelling goes down at which point they will set it in a cast. See what I mean? It's never boring around here.

Then, my mom has also agreed to have several of Sallie's friend's moms over for dinner so that should be interesting too. But hey, I could be in school. This is much more fun, even if it is chaotic. Plus, next week, its on to the BEACH! YEA! And I am babysitting Sarah Cate again next week which is always lots of fun. She was at graduation too so she could see Meggie. I think she must have gotten up early too because she was kinda sleepy...

So I hope everyone has had a great first day off and call me if anyone wants to do anything.

*Sigh* I am sooo ready for the end of the year. I need some time to, well, actually just doing nothing sounds really really good. Last night I studied for exams, drove my sister to get her nails done, drove her to a softball game, fed my brother and sister dinner, made them take showers, helped them finish their homework, packed their lunches, listened to Combo #5 about 100 times so Brian could get all the words for his gong show today, and helped my mom with dishes and laundry while she was at Brian's hockey game and then Sallie's softball game. Then I put the dogs away, swept the kitchen floor, and studied some more before going to bed. Today my mom left for the beach for the weekend so my dad is here with all of us. Sallie immediately left to hang out with her friends before the 8th grade dance, Lucie arranged to eat with some neighbors (but only after coercing me to watch her and her 2 friends swim in the pool for 2 hours meanwhile---studying), and Brian is going to see Shrek2 with 2 other neighbors. So, my dad said we would go out to dinner, but that isn't going to happen because of course Lucie can't stay at the neighbors' all night, Brian has to be picked up at 9 and Sallie at 10. Anyone who wonders why I can never go anywhere or do anything--that's why....
So here I am delaying any further studying and hoping this headache will go away without taking Motrin, listening to music, trying to relieve some of this "tension"

Did anyone else notice how icky the AP English reading thing sounds? Plus 3 PAPERS!!! Ahh, we haven't even gotten through exams yet! Speaking of which, if anyone is having a study group this weekend, I'd love to join in--get me away from here! PLEASE! But of course, there's a very high likelihood that I won't be able to go anyhow so...just food for thought I suppose. I just keep telling myself 4 more days, 4 more days, 4 more days...

Wow. It's been a long time since I last wrote. I knew this would get more sparatic. So the GoPo AP wasn't that bad, but we'll see what I say in July when I get my scores...I'm babysitting for my sister. Since I'm allowed to drive her, I told her we could go do something fun like go out for ice cream, walk around the lake, go shopping, go to a movie, or get our nails done. BUT, she has two friends over from our neighborhood and I can only drive one person who's not in my family, so therefore she doesn't want to go anywhere or do anything and I am stuck here-- soooooooo bored!!! I even tried to mow the lawn for my dad, but the lawnmower won't start. Needless to say, it hasn't been the best SATURDAY ever, but oh well. This week has gone by so slowly, but now that I'm finally sitting down to write about it it doesn't seem so long. So I've had my license for a while now, but I drove by myself for the first time on Wednesday. I thought I would be really nervous and freaked out but it was really so much easier than driving with my parents. It was soooo nice. Plus now I have so much freedom to do whatever I want. It will be a while before I start driving myself to and from school, but for now close to home is enough to keep me happy.

I watched the Friends finale last night. It is so sad to see them all go. They've been making me smile for so long and I just love the show so much. Each character played such a great role and put together it was the funniest thing ever. I loved the last episode though, despite my prediction that Rachel and Ross would get married. At least they didn't deny their "meant-to-be-ness" plus now Emma will have both her parents together which is nice.

That last paragraph makes me laugh. Isn't it funny how a tv show can seem so much like real life? I feel like I know these characters and their just figments of some author's imagination...that sounds like something we would talk about in English...

AHHH.....Lucie has pink eye! I hope I don't get it because you have to put those disgusting little droppy thingys into your eyes and I always blink right when its going in and then the drop rolls down the side of my face which is so GROSS! Yuck. Speaking of yuck, the weather today is kind of icky too, but that's a great excuse for me to be as I am--pj pants, slippers, and t shirt, typing about absolutely nothing on this blog, chomping on gum. Sounds like fun right?

One interesting thing did happen yesterday, however. My dad got 12 tickets to the Durham Bulls game so we went to that. It was lots of fun because we got to sit really close and laugh at all the 30 year old guys who were yelling at the players (which was completely disgusting and they were screaming so loudly my ears are still ringing), but it was kind of funny-- zha zha zha. At the end they had fireworks too which were very pretty, and I saw Lisa there which was cool too. Plus, the Bulls won which is always nice.

I went to the Spring Festival/Arts Festival at school today. I saw lots of people there too. The only thing is, my mom bid on the dinner thingy where your teachers come to your house and cook for you. And the teachers cooking are...Ms. Scicinska and Ms. Callanan. Not that I really mind, but...Plus I don't know if we won or not. Someone might have outbid her(my mom). We'll see...

Otherwise, I have been kind of uptight about the approaching AP exam...yikes! The only reason I got the stupid rabbit in the first place was so that I would have someone to love and someone who loved me in return. So much for that.... Well, I was trying to clip his nails this morning and brush him to get off his nasty hair (which really screws up my sister's allergies by the way) and all I got was a shirt full of rabbit hair (so I had to change) and a million little red scratches all over my arms (they hurt like----well, you know what I mean). So now the little terd-erator is sitting in his wire cage in the middle of his poop- that's right, I didn't bother to change the stupid thing after I got all scratching by his excessively annoying toenails, which, by the way, never got cut. *Sigh* I don't know what I'm going to do with him...anyone wanna rabbit?

So, I'm trying this out.
